As a reporter (or news agency), it is your job to VERIFY THE FACTS BEFORE you report them.
It is NOT your job to scoop everyone and get a FALSE story out first.
It is ALSO not your job to spend the next 24 hours after a tragedy trying to COVER YOUR ASS BECAUSE YOU FUCKED UP!!!!
